DENVER–()–Health
Language, Inc.
(HLI), the global leader in healthcare terminology
management, today announced that NextGen
Healthcare
, a wholly owned subsidiary of Quality
Systems, Inc
. and a leading provider of healthcare information
systems and connectivity solutions, has selected its Language Engine
(LE) and provider-friendly terminology (PFT) to enhance physician
documentation and billing workflow.

These tools will help standardize terminologies such as SNOMED and
ICD-10 within the NextGen®
Ambulatory product suite
including NextGen®
Ambulatory EHR
, NextGen®
Practice Management
and NextGen™
Health Information Exchange
to help support Meaningful Use Stage 2
and ICD-10 implementation requirements, as well as offer its physicians
a simplified way to search diagnosis and problem lists.

the necessary content and expertise to help provide our clients with the
newest tools to create meaningful analytics, workflow efficiencies and
improve the quality of patient care,” said Scott Decker, president of
NextGen Healthcare. “Our suite of products and services prepare our

searching algorithms in its Language Engine, we are better positioned to
support our clients as they prepare for Meaningful Use Stage 2 and
ICD-10.”

HLI’s provider-friendly terminology tool and ICD-10 related content will
be used by NextGen Ambulatory EHR clients, which represent multiple
thousands of physicians. As a result of the partnership, users will be
able to:

  • Find diagnoses and problem lists more quickly and easily by leveraging
    PFT and standardized terminologies such as SNOMED CT and ICD-10;
  • Speed the clinical documentation process and streamline workflow of
    EHR use by reducing the number of clicks;

of problem list data into SNOMED CT codes; and
  • Identify accurate ICD-10 codes in order to enhance ICD-10 readiness.

In addition, the ability to quickly search, identify and record accurate
codes allows physicians more time to provide personalized care to
patients.

“We are pleased to partner with NextGen Healthcare in managing critical
data elements of its EHR system as we help providers prepare for
Meaningful Use Stage 2 and ICD-10,” said George Schwend, CEO and
president of HLI. “Clinician and hospital partners realize the value of
